The Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) is an international society of some 5000 members in 78 countries, organised via geographic units in North America, Europe, Asia/Pacific and Latin America. National Scientific Meeting 2008

With the theme 'Racing Into the Future', the conference will reflect the dynamic and forward-looking nature of the profession at a time of great change. It will focus on three main contexts: the ageing of the population, emergence of new treatments and therapies and the impact of environmental challenges. The conference will feature a line-up of eminent national and international speakers, discussing topics in the traditional fields of histology, cytology, biochemistry, haematology, transfusion, microbiology and immunology but also in management, education and quality, as well as the new technologies in molecular pathology and cell therapy. The 10th International Congress of Ecology

The Congress will be hosted by the Ecological Society of Australia in partnership with the New Zealand Ecological Society. This is the first time that an International Congress of Ecology will have been held in the southern Hemisphere. As well as the excellent conference facilities provided by the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, Queensland provides outstanding possibilities for congress excursions including the Great Barrier Reef, Fraser Island, Heron Island, and the Daintree Rainforest.
