Aalborg Instruments optical sensor switches for rotameters

Aalborg Instruments’ enhanced optical sensor switches provide a non-invasive way to detect high or low flow rates that can damage equipment and processes. Suitable for OEM applications, the enhanced sensors will signal a cut-off valve, alarm or other device (not included) when the float passes above or below the desired setting.

The Optical Sensor Switch Hi-Lo contains two sets of enhanced, self-contained mini-slim photoelectric sensors located on two solid carriers. Each set contains a transmitter and receiver. The Hi-Lo can also be used in conjunction with a control relay to power alternate equipment or monitoring devices.

The product is compactly designed and easy to operate: simply power up, slide and set the carrier with the set of self-contained miniature photoelectric sensors to monitor the desired level of flow. An orange light signals that the float is in the desired position.

The switch works with all float materials, including transparent red-coloured floats made from sapphire, due to the sensors’ enhanced design consisting of receiver and transmitter. It can be used with Aalborg’s P, S, and T rotameters and has a response time of 0.5 ms.
