Promega has announced the GloMax Explorer multimode detection system, a flexible multimode reader for luminescence, fluorescence and absorbance detection to address a variety of research needs.

The system is designed with over 50 optimised, preloaded Promega protocols to minimise time spent optimising instrument settings. Complemented by a wide range of integrated assays, including nucleic acid quantitation for next-generation sequencing, the product provides high sensitivity, a broad dynamic range and low well-to-well cross-talk to generate usable and relevant data. Users also have the option of customising their own protocols in accordance with specific needs.

The unit allows researchers to choose a range of detection modules for their current work and upgrade capabilities as their experimental needs grow. Multiplexed cell viability, apoptosis and cytotoxicity assays are easily performed with minimal manual intervention because of automated filter switching. The software is SiLA compatible, making integration of device control simple.

Using the instrument’s touch-screen display and automatic gain adjustments, researchers can quickly generate and analyse data from critical experiments with minimal set-up time and effort. From the touch screen, users can set up a plate map, view data in a heat map display and easily export their results to a variety of locations without complicated adjustments.
