The New Manager program is a comprehensive and accelerated course designed to assist managers in developing their skills of self management and managing the performance of others. It covers the breadth of people management skills and introduces participants to practical tools and strategies.

As well as the core interpersonal skills, this course covers the selection, recruitment and performance management of staff. It can be counted as a unit towards a Diploma of Business.

Designed for aspiring, new and current managers in the science, technology and medical industries, the course content includes: goal setting and prioritising; leadership styles and situational leadership; delegation, mentoring and coaching; performance management and effecting change; problem solving and decision making; motivation; and selection and recruitment.

Participants will learn to: manage personal work goals and work priorities; develop and maintain personal competence; manage individual performance; address performance-related issues; address issues of individuals in teams; and build support and commitment within the work team.
