Cilas 990, 1090 and 1190 model particle size analysers

Cilas’s particle size analysers feature compact optical benches, which need no alignment, integrated wet dry jet dispersion technology and integrated simultaneous particle size and shape analysis. The particle size analysers deliver good repeatability and accuracy.

The particle size analysers are used by many industries to: improve industrial process and quality control; characterise materials in laboratory and production settings; control the size and shape of particles and/or emulsions.

Particle sizing and shape analysis is widely employed in: pharmaceuticals; chemicals and petrochemicals; food and agriculture; cement and building materials; mining and minerals; research and teaching.

Cilas particle size analysers are available in three models. The 990 - with a versatile 2 mW laser and measurement wavelength of 830 nm, this instrument can measure between 0.2 to 500 μm in liquid mode and 0.3 to 500 μm in dry mode. It features alignment-free optics and software-controlled switching between liquid and dry dispersion modes. With a high-performance dry dispersion system, the 990 can also perform simultaneous size and shape measurements (with Shape Analyzer option).

The 1090 features two lasers (2 and 5 mW), measurement wavelengths of 635 and 830 nm and alignment-free optics. With a measurement range between 0.04 and 500 μm in liquid mode and 0.1 and 500 μm in dry mode, the model 1090 is a solid, mid-range instrument. The 1090’s onboard software automatically switches between liquid and dry dispersion modes without the need for hardware changes or realignment of optics. With a high-performance dry dispersion system, the 1090 can also perform simultaneous size and shape measurements (with Shape Analyzer option).

The 1190 (the top-of-the-range model) has the same lasers as the 190 model, but with an extended measurement range of 0.04 to 2500 μm in liquid mode and 0.1 to 2500 μm in dry mode. It incorporates all the features of the 990 and 1090 models.

Accessories for the 990, 1090 and 1190 models include a Shape Analysis package, which features a CCD camera and software for viewing particle shape in the range of 0.5 to 2500 μm, and an alcohol recirculator for analysing water-soluble samples.
