Thermo Scientific Hormones Application Kit for detection and analysis of hormones in water

Monday, 05 November, 2012 | Supplied by: Thermo Fisher Scientific

The Thermo Scientific Hormones Application Kit is a complete package designed to simplify the detection and analysis of hormone contaminants in groundwater and drinking water samples using liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS).

The kit is designed to streamline and accelerate sample preparation, handling and analysis using a verified protocol for EPA Method 539, ‘Determination of Hormones in Drinking Water by Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) and Liquid Chromatography Electrospray Ionisation Tandem Mass Spectrometry (LC-ESI-MS/MS)’.

Thermo Fisher application chemists were said to experience substantial productivity gains using the kits to comply with EPA Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule 3, where public water systems are monitored for 30 contaminants. The kit is designed for use with the company’s TSQ series triple quadrupole LC-MS/MS system with UltiMate 3000 series LC.

The starter kit contains a Thermo Scientific Accucore HPLC column, solid phase extraction discs, MS-certified vials, a detailed application protocol and the company’s TraceFinder software method files, which can be uploaded into the instrument software. The kit can be bundled with a Thermo Scientific LC-MS/MS system or a stand-alone item.
