Monowave EDU, a microwave synthesis reactor from Anton Paar, is suitable for people in academic research who benefit from minimised reaction times. The unit comes with consumables that can be re-used many times.

At the high pressures and temperatures safely achieved using the reactor, the synthesis of benzimidazoles can be performed in 4 s at 250°C and 21 bar, instead of in 9 weeks at 25°C under atmospheric pressure. Employing the company’s silicon carbide vessels instead of glass vessels, users can heat anything in little time. This is further ensured through the unit’s output power of up to 500 W.

The product is easy to use, with intuitive software and a large colour display. Once the maximum permissible pressure is reached, the instrument regulates the temperature for safety and keeps reactions running instead of cutting them off. The pressure measurement is fully integrated in the instrument; no further sensors need to be attached.
