The Smart Orbit diamond attenuated total reflectance (ATR) accessory offers users the many advantages of diamond ATR technology, coupled with the complete instrument integration of the Nicolet FT-IR products. The Smart Orbit uses a real Type IIa diamond for ruggedness and versatility, allowing analysis of challenging samples. Another benefit is access to the entire infrared range, because the accessory is not limited by use of substrate materials or lenses.
In addition to the diamond crystal, the ATR accessory is compatible with multiple crystal materials, including germanium, zinc selenide, silicon and AMTIR, to accommodate special sampling needs. The Smart Orbit accessory can be used up to 200°C and offers flow capabilities.
Its crystal plate design makes cleaning and swapping crystals quick and easy. Most samples, even those that are caustic, abrasive or inflexible, can be analysed with this accessory. The braised diamond element also allows for higher pressure to be applied, which is important for challenging samples.
Smart Accessories integrate with Nicolet Avatar and Nicolet Nexus FT-IR spectrometers.
