In this technical paper, we discuss the reasons why baseline correction is needed in UV-Vis spectrophotometric measurements and some basic guidelines for doing baseline correction and sample measurements. While considering the question of baseline corrections and how to use them, we also examine briefly the basic components in a spectrophotometer and how they operate.
