Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) accounts for approximately 90% of primary liver cancers. HCC primarily develops from hepatitis B virus (HBV) or hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection, alcohol use or non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). Regulatory T cells (Treg) control autoimmune reactivity in vivo, where increased Tregs infiltration into the tumour tissue of patients with HCC suggests these T cell subsets can be a potential prognostic marker and therapeutic intervention target.

While the role of Tregs in the premalignant process from NASH to HCC development is unclear, HBV infection is an established major risk factor for HCC development, often following from or accompanying long-term chronic inflammation. Specifically, there is interest in the role of C-C Motif Receptor 4 (CCR4)+ Tregs in orchestrating the immunosuppressive microenvironment in HCC associated with HBV.

To assist immuno-oncology researchers, Cloud-Clone developed the ELISA Kit for Human Chemokine C-C-Motif Receptor 4 (CCR4). The assay is highly sensitive, with a minimum detection dose of 0.056 ng/mL, and is suitable for the detection of CCR4 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluid samples. It is available for research use only.
