TecQuipment modular Structures teaching system

The TecQuipment modular Structures teaching system range, available from Edutechnics/Duff and Macintosh, can be used for engineering teaching in tertiary laboratories.

The range teaches basic principles to more advanced theory. Offered are 18 desk-mounting hardware experiment modules supported by full automatic data acquisition, and Structures software.

A key feature of this range is its flexibility. The hardware modules and instrumentation are easily fixed, removed and swapped for experiments, making sensible use of laboratory space and time. By providing virtual experiments, the Structures software offers a versatile and effective method for students to quickly learn structures principles.

The hardware modules and the software can be used together or as stand-alone products. However, using both with automatic data acquisition gives an effective teaching solution.

Examples of experiments include: bending moments in a beam; deflection of beams and cantilevers; pin-jointed frameworks.
