The Duff & Macintosh centrifugal pump test set is a self-contained, robust, good-quality apparatus that allows a comprehensive range of tests and investigations in laboratory demonstrations, student experiments and project work.

The apparatus has high levels of built-in safety, which means students can use the equipment with minimal supervision. It is ergonomically designed and has accurate and easy-to-read instrumentation.

It is suitable for comprehensive demonstrations and investigations into a centrifugal pump including: centrifugal pump performance and characteristics, typically head versus flow and efficiency versus flow; illustrate the phenomenon of cavitation; demonstrate use of a Venturi meter; demonstrate differential pressure measurement for establishing flow rate.

The test set uses water as the working fluid which an integral reservoir recirculates. Digital instrumentation enables accurate display of speed, torque and true ‘shaft’ power.
