Petrospec Turbine Diesel Portable Process Analyzer

Wednesday, 08 February, 2012 | Supplied by: John Morris Scientific Pty Ltd

Petrospec’s Turbine Diesel Portable Process Analyzer (TD PPA) provides a global analysis of diesel and jet fuel blends in 3 min using only 10 mL of sample and no sample preparation.

The product is easy to use, requiring no technical training. With the touch of one button, using infrared analysis, the fully automated device combines both near- and mid-infrared information to evaluate for multiple analytes and physical properties simultaneously. This is claimed to produce more repeatable and reproducible results than other standard methods. The device does not require any preparation time and is rugged enough for laboratory or field use.

Each unit is factory calibrated with a diverse matrix of 600 plus fuels developed during independent projects with BP, Shell and Ethyl Corp. Calibration software allows for on-site fuel adaptation suitable for applications in R&D and refinery labs, refinery process units and catalytic pilot plants. The device allows the user to supplement factory settings and customise training instruments to unique or local fuel blends.

The product allows for monitoring product quality, optimising fuel and additive blending, and ensures government compliance, verifies chain of custody, and minimises transmix and contamination problems.
