Accurion’s ultracompact, portable and easy-to-use halcyonics_nano series is an active vibration isolation system suitable for entry-level AFMs and other small and lightweight instruments. Powerful actuators, neodymium magnets and an external controller make the series a small but versatile component of instrument set-up.

The device is suitable for dampening building vibrations. The active control eliminates resonance amplifications, while the separate controller means no heat dissipation interferes with the experiment. Set-up is fast and easy and the settling time is only 0.3 s.

The product is said to offer high performance even under severe environmental conditions. Active isolation starts from 1 Hz and is active until 200 Hz (and passive above 200 Hz). The low-voltage electromagnetic actuator avoids the high voltage used for many piezo systems, so there is no interference with the user’s delicate instrumentation.

Applications include atomic force microscopy, automated optical microscopy with CCD head, ultraprecise scales and more.
