Bio-atomic force microscope

Thursday, 01 January, 2009 | Supplied by: SciTech Pty Ltd

The JPK NanoWizard II bio-atomic force microscope (AFM) provides life science laboratories with stability, performance, ease of handling with samples in fluid and full integration with optical microscopy.

The bioAFM has applications in research fields including nanomanipulation, cell adhesion measurements, surface chemistry, DNA high-resolution imaging, microbiology, pharmaceuticals, electrochemistry and polymer melting.

Key features include: fully compatible with fluorescence techniques such as TIRF, FRET, FCS, FRAP, FLIM, Ca2+ response and laser scanning microscopy, with the ability to run any of these simultaneously; simultaneous use of phase contrast or DIC, achieved with the cantilever tip scanning technique of the AFM; stability and zero drift for long-term experiments; and no sensitive parts positioned below the sample level, making it suitable for working with liquids.
