The Cytation 7 Cell Imaging Multi-Mode Reader, from BioTek Instruments, combines automated digital upright and inverted widefield microscopy with versatile multimode detection in a single, compact unit. The design enables transmitted and reflected light applications and, along with Gen5 software, provides information on cell morphology, localisation of signal, cell counting, object identification and quantification. The product is also able to perform standard multimode plate reader assays.

The unit’s upright microscope enables application workflows such as ELISpot, colony counting, rapid slide scanning and ROI identification. The inverted microscope delivers high-quality images and data analysis for live cell applications including 3D imaging, cell viability and migration assays. The quadruple monochromator-based fluorescence, absorbance and luminescence microplate reading capabilities further establish the device as a versatile, multifunctional tool for researchers to obtain publication-quality images and data.

The Cytation portfolio supports live cell and biochemical assays through a wide range of imaging and multimode plate reading capabilities and other powerful features. Along with powerful visualisation and analysis, each device is modular and configurable to suit any laboratory’s needs and budget.
