The pE-300white from CoolLED delivers powerful, broad-spectrum LED illumination designed for fluorescence microscopy in both hospital and research laboratory settings. Offering a mercury-free alternative to traditional bulb-based systems, it is designed to provide a safe, precise and easily controllable light source.

With spectral coverage spanning from the UV (suitable for DAPI excitation) to the red region (suitable for Cy5 excitation), the product is compatible with a wide range of fluorophores, enhancing versatility across numerous applications. The compact, easy-to-use LED illuminator delivers broad-spectrum illumination that supports the excitation requirements of a wide range of common fluorophores, including DAPI, CFP, Aqua, FITC, TRITC, TxRed, Cy5 and many others.

An additional benefit is that fluorophores can be viewed either individually or in combination, without filter cube changes. This makes the system suitable for use with multi-band filter sets, as the screening process can be simplified when fewer filter cubes are used. Independent control of the three LED wavebands allows control of the level of excitation of each fluorophore independently on a multi-stained sample, potentially removing the need for single-band filter sets altogether.

Users can operate the system via a manual control pod offering instant on/off functionality and irradiance control from 0–100%. For added flexibility, remote control is available through USB or TTL trigger interfaces.

Due to rapid advancements in LED technology, the product offers double the irradiance at the sample plane compared to previous models. For applications requiring even more light, the Direct Fit model provides higher irradiance and reduced operating costs, with fewer consumables needed over time. For confocal microscopes, the liquid light guide variant can replace a metal halide light source, minimising photobleaching and phototoxicity when viewing samples before scanning.

Certified with the ACT Label, the product is recognised as an environmentally responsible choice, making it a suitable illumination system for modern microscopy workflows.
