Double-beam UV/vis spectrophotometer

Tuesday, 08 April, 2008 | Supplied by: DKSH Australia Pty Ltd

The Scinco SD-1000 UV/vis spectrophotometer combines the features of a Windows PC with those of a double-beam scanning UV/vis spectrophotometer. It is suitable for teaching or a routine QC or DNA or protein laboratory.
The SD-1000 offers a true dual-beam optics design, with separate reference and sampling positions. Sample and blanks can be continuously measured to allow for real-time changes. A wide range of sampling accessories including an 11 position multiple cell holder means the SD-1000 can be set up for a wide range of applications in a multi-user laboratory.
The spectrophotometer incorporates an embedded computer running Windows XP to allow sophisticated method development, data manipulation and storage and processing and printing. An 8" colour display is included and standard software functions include: wavelength scanning, peak valley calculation, absorbance, transmission and quantification, kinetics, DNA, RNA and protein studies and special functions for thickness measurement, colour analysis or multiple component analysis.
The software is 21CFR part 11 compliant with electronic signature and traceability, as well as an automated validation wizard feature. A USB port is included for easy data download.
The SD-1000 covers a wavelength range from 190 to 1100 nm with a resolution of <1.7 nm and stray light of less than 0.04%.
