Evident IXplore IX85 automated inverted microscope system

Evident has released the IXplore IX85 automated inverted microscope system. With a field number (FN) of 26.5 mm, combined with advanced imaging tools that provide clear results, the system empowers researchers to capture data and uncover meaningful insights quickly.

The product’s built-in optics provide consistent lighting across the entire field of view, allowing users to collect large, uniform images. Proprietary distortion correction technology and expanded flatness mean that every detail, even at image edges, can be expected to be an accurate sample representation. Users can also create seamless, high-quality stitched images with Intelligent Shading Correction. With faster stitching, users can capture large samples in 50% fewer images compared to the company’s previous system models.

Designed to enhance lab workflows, the system is equipped with automated acquisition features, efficient task management software, and advanced real-time image processing and analysis. Its automatic correction collar automatically fine-tunes objectives, optimising image quality by reducing spherical aberrations caused by variations in samples. The addition of silicone gel pad technology means the system has a high level of objective usability; the silicone gel pad moves with the objective, which eliminates the need to wipe or replace oil as a sample is navigated.

The product also delivers a high level of customisability, allowing users to design or build an intelligent, high-performance imaging platform that meets their specific goals. Its dual built-in ports enable multimodal set-ups, and its open frame design makes it simple to add or swap modules as needed.

Users can upgrade and expand their platform as research needs evolve by adding features such as environmental control and imaging modalities like spinning disk confocal, super resolution, total internal reflection fluorescence (TIRF) and photomanipulation.
