Excelitas pco.edge 26 DS CLHS high-speed sCMOS camera
The pco.edge 26 DS CLHS camera from Excelitas is designed to offer high-speed, high-resolution imaging. It has been engineered for professionals who need good clarity and speed, making it suitable for capturing fast dynamic processes in real time.
The camera combines the high image quality of a charge domain global shutter 26 MP image sensor with fast and efficient data transfer. It features a double shutter (DS) mode that achieves an inter-framing time of 350 ns, making it suitable for capturing fast dynamic processes.
The camera is suitable for demanding applications requiring detail and speed, such as wind tunnel experiments, analysis of airflow around biological structures, particle tracking velocimetry (PTV) and particle image velocimetry (PIV) applications. PIV and PTV are used to study fluid dynamics in realistic cardiovascular phantoms to analyse blood flow patterns. The camera can be used to assess how aerosol particles and droplets are carried and distributed by airflow, providing crucial information for designing and optimising drug delivery systems, such as inhalers.
Other specifications for the monochrome, CLHS FOL interface camera include high resolution of 5120 x 5120 pixels, an 18.1 mm diagonal sensor and 2.5 x 2.5 um pixel size, making it suitable for capturing rapid, sequential events with precision.
