Excelitas pco.flim X fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy (FLIM) camera
The pco.flim X, by Excelitas, is a frequency domain (FD) fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy (FLIM) camera that uses a fast modulatable CMOS sensor with two readout taps per pixel. This latest version is designed to offer improved cooling, which achieves -5°C with forced air cooling and -20°C image sensor temperature with water cooling. These features reduce the readout noise level below 15 e- and extend the usable exposure times to 4 s instead of 2 s.
The product can measure fluorescence lifetimes from 1 ns–100 µs and is therefore understood to be the frequency domain FLIM camera system with the largest resolution of 1008 x 1008 pixels and the highest maximum frame rate of 45 double images/s on the market.
The camera is suitable for lightsheet fluorescence microscopy with fluorescence lifetime imaging, high-resolution fluorescence lifetime imaging in widefield microscopy and instant FRET measurements by using the donor fluorescence lifetime.
