The pco.panda 26 scientific CMOS (sCMOS) camera from Excelitas delivers 5120 x 5120 pixel resolution in monochrome and colour sensor options, giving imaging laboratories a compact camera platform for demanding microscopy and screening workflows.

The camera offers 2.5 x 2.5 µm pixel size, making it suitable for optical systems including low-magnification microscopes, while the true charge-domain global shutter supports low readout noise and dark current. USB 3.1 connectivity supplies power and enables fast data transfer without an external power unit, and the ultra-compact housing supports straightforward integration into optical set-ups.

The product is suited to a wide range of scientific imaging applications, including brightfield microscopy, fluorescence microscopy, digital pathology, light sheet fluorescence microscopy, structured illumination microscopy, high-speed brightfield ratio imaging, high throughput screening, high content screening, biochip reading and spinning disk confocal microscopy.

The camera has an 18.1 mm sensor diagonal, a maximum frame rate of 6 fps and a maximum pixel rate of 187 MP/s. It offers a peak QE of 65% at 500 nm, typical read noise of 2.3 e-, and a maximum dynamic range of 2000:1. The camera uses a global shutter and passive sensor cooling, and has compact dimensions of 65 x 65 x 72 mm.
