Excelitas X-Cite TETREM LED illuminator for fluorescence microscopy

Tuesday, 13 May, 2025 | Supplied by: SciTech Pty Ltd

Excelitas introduces the X-Cite TETREM — a 4-channel, switchable, light guide-coupled LED light source designed to streamline fluorescence microscopy. The product supports DAPI, FITC, TRITC/mCherry and Cy5 fluorophore excitation. Its compact design makes it a suitable choice for researchers performing live cell imaging or upgrading from a lamp-based system for routine applications.

The user can switch between any of the device’s four colours in microseconds. Analog and TTL capabilities allow for intensity control and fast on/off times to enable high-throughput imaging. Like all X-Cite LED systems, the product can be computer-controlled via USB, X-Cite Control Panel and third-party software. SDK is available upon request for custom control applications.

The unit is equipped with the 4-channel X-Cite smartDIAL controller, offering a modern, user-friendly and sleek interface for precise and intuitive manual control. With mercury-free operation and no bulbs to stock or replace, labs can keep their imaging systems up and running without interruption. As the LEDs can be triggered on only when needed for imaging, the light guides should last longer compared to lamp systems and not need to be replaced as frequently.

The product is available in two models: XT640S (365 nm DAPI excitation) and XT640L (385 nm DAPI excitation).
