Greateyes ELSEs full-frame, deep-cooled CCD camera

The Greateyes ELSEs is a full-frame, deep-cooled scientific CCD camera designed for demanding spectroscopy applications including Raman, NIR, fluorescence, absorption, transmission and reflectance spectroscopy.

The ELSEs combines advanced low-noise electronics with ultra-deep cooling down to -100°C, dramatically reducing dark current and enabling the detection of extremely weak optical signals. Its compact design makes it suitable for laboratory environments where both high performance and efficient use of space are essential.

Multiple readout speeds support pixel rates from 50 kHz up to 5 MHz, while image resolutions of up to 16.8 megapixels provide exceptional detail. Additional features include flexible pixel binning, trigger and synchronisation modes, Crop and Burst acquisition modes, software-selectable gain, and real-time monitoring of both the sensor and Peltier hot-side temperatures.

True 18-bit A/D conversion enables the camera to take full advantage of the CCD sensor’s dynamic range, delivering excellent image quality and signal-to-noise performance. A choice of UV, VIS and NIR sensor coatings is available to suit a broad range of applications. Users can select from three CCD sensor options: a back-illuminated deep-depletion sensor with NIR anti-reflective coating offering up to 95% quantum efficiency (QE) in the NIR; a back-illuminated sensor with mid-band anti-reflective coating providing up to 95% QE in the visible spectrum; or a front-illuminated sensor optimised for spectroscopy applications requiring the highest frame rates and good cost-performance.

The ELSEs family includes four camera models, offering a range of pixel formats, pixel sizes and sensor areas. Both GigE and USB 3.0 interfaces are available, providing flexibility for local operation or remote network deployment.
