HLA typing spectrophotometer

Wednesday, 08 April, 2009 | Supplied by: Thermo Fisher Scientific

The Thermo Scientific NanoDrop 1000 spectrophotometer is designed for human leukocyte antigen (HLA) typing laboratories dealing with donor tissue matching.

The system is capable of carrying out full UV-Vis absorbance measurements with 1 µl of undiluted sample, speeding analysis time by reducing dilution steps. It allows laboratories to analyse micro samples of DNA in 10 s, reducing labour and increasing productivity. The micro sample quantitation technology is suitable for typing samples of limited cell mass, such as mononucleated bone marrow specimens.

The cuvette-less method used by the device enables HLA laboratories to quickly and effectively process DNA samples without compromising yield. The system also enables HLA typing laboratories to comply with the standards set by the ASHI.
