The Jenoptik GRYPHAX Rigel is a monochrome microscope camera engineered for fluorescence applications where photon budgets are limited and quantitative repeatability is essential. It is well suited to live-cell imaging, time-lapse experiments and fluorescence intensity measurements. A sensitive back-illuminated CMOS sensor, combined with low-noise readout and high-speed acquisition, is designed to enable reliable detection of weak signals while supporting rapid dynamic imaging. Control, acquisition and documentation are managed through the GRYPHAX software platform.

While optimised for fluorescence microscopy, Rigel can also be used for transmitted-light imaging such as brightfield and phase contrast, where a monochrome detector is appropriate. This flexibility allows laboratories to standardise on a single camera platform across routine screening and fluorescence-focused workflows. The camera features a 1/1.2″ Sony back-illuminated CMOS sensor with a pixel size of 5.86 × 5.86 µm and a dynamic range of 73 dB. Integrated cooling and a global shutter is designed to ensure stable, consistent acquisition in low-light conditions and when imaging dynamic samples.

The Jenoptik GRYPHAX software is designed to provide a comprehensive imaging environment, including live display and video capture (up to 120 fps at Full HD in low light), extended depth of field (EDF), panorama/stitching, measurement and annotation tools, and report generation. A consistent user interface is available across Windows, macOS and Linux. For advanced integration, a free SDK is provided with compatibility for µManager, TWAIN, DirectX and third-party software platforms.

Manufactured in Germany, the GRYPHAX Rigel is supplied with a 24-month warranty, with ongoing software updates provided free of charge. The Jenoptik GRYPHAX Rigel microscope camera is available through SciTech. Application and integration support is available for microscope coupling, software configuration and workflow setup in research and core-facility environments.
