Mightex OASIS Implant deep brain imaging and stimulation system
The OASIS Implant system, by Mightex, is a micro-endoscopic system that is capable of doing deep-brain, simultaneous, all-optical recording and manipulation of neural circuit activity with cellular resolution for in vivo live animal experiments. Other applications include deep brain calcium imaging in freely behaving animals; deep brain patterned opto-genetic stimulation with single-cell or sub-cellular resolution; and simultaneous deep brain stimulation and imaging.
With multiple illumination ports, the system is equipped with both wide-field and patterned illumination capabilities (when combined with Mightex’s Polygon400). It is also capable of doing multiwavelength imaging/stimulation, which cannot be done with the existing head-mounted cameras.
The product is compatible with high-sensitivity, research-grade cameras. It enables researchers to acquire high quality deep-brain images and videos compared to the head-mounted cameras on the market, according to the company. Other features include: sub-cellular resolution, high-quality imaging for quantitative analysis; multiwavelength illumination; a lightweight (0.7 g) head-mounted fixture; and a modular system design that is reconfigurable for different applications.
