Monolithic HPLC columns

Phenomenex has introduced its monolithic silica HPLC column portfolio, Onyx.

Since the monolithic silica gel HPLC column technology was introduced it has been recognised as superior to traditional HPLC columns packed with silica particulates with regards to: decreased column backpressure, enabling faster separations and higher sample-throughput and high separation efficiencies by column coupling; increased column lifetime, even with biological samples; adaptation to standard HPLC pumps and instrumentation; ability to use current HPLC systems to achieve the same results promised by newer HPLC systems.

Onyx is based on monolithic technology under licence from Merck KGaA, in Germany, and includes a variety of silica gel-based monolithic reversed and normal phase columns which were developed for standard HPLC separations in the chemical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food and beverage and environmental industries, including LC/MS applications.
