Blue dextran is used in affinity chromatography, allowing for the identification of proteins (purified or in crude cellular extracts) and improving the purification procedures for various proteins. Blue dextrans are also utilised in gel filtration chromatography and protein chromatography as well as molecular weight markers.
TdB Labs’ Blue dextran is synthesised from controlled dextran fractions by reacting with Cibacron blue F3GA. After purification from non-bound dye, products are controlled for molecular weight, solubility, degree of substitution, free dye and loss on drying. Blue dextran dissolves freely in water and is available in a wide variety of molecular weights, ranging from 5 to 2000 kDa.
