Thermo Scientific Orbitrap Exploris MX mass spectrometer

Tuesday, 09 November, 2021 | Supplied by: Thermo Fisher Scientific

The Thermo Scientific Orbitrap Exploris MX mass detector allows biopharmaceutical laboratories to easily implement multi-attribute method (MAM) and to perform intact analysis of monoclonal antibodies (mAbs), oligonucleotide mass determination and peptide mapping, making it suitable for biopharma process confirmation. Accelerated drug characterisation processes in QC and productivity improvements are enabled by fully integrating the spectrometer into Thermo Fisher Scientific’s MAM 2.0 workflow, thereby replacing multiple assays with one information-rich mass spectrometric assay.

To simplify the transition of biotherapeutics from development to manufacturing, the system enables QC customers to use the same method established earlier in a molecule’s journey to commercialisation, accelerating the biopharmaceutical pipeline. Robust and flexible, the product is designed with everything required for biopharmaceuticals characterisation.

Laboratories can benefit from reduced downtime and maintenance, as well as seamless method transfers. The system offers good data quality and therefore high-confidence results, even for users with limited mass spectrometric experience. It offers easy adoption for contract research, development and manufacturing organisations enabled by rapid calibration procedures, built-in methods and stable performance; Orbitrap technology, which provides high resolution, mass accuracy and sensitivity; and simplified implementation of MAM into QC.
