TOPTICA Photonics has released the FemtoFiber ultra dual-colour laser system, designed specifically for multi-colour non-linear microscopy applications. The innovative system features two synchronised laser lines, making it suitable for simultaneous multi-colour imaging and fluorescence lifetime imaging (FLIM). No laser wavelength tuning is required.

TOPTICA’s femtosecond fibre lasers are designed to provide optimal performance while being easy to use. For neuroscience applications, FemtoFiber ultra lasers can be used to address biological questions by imaging green (GFP) and red fluorescent proteins (RFP) and are already widely adopted in non-linear microscopes.

The system facilitates enhanced imaging of biological samples; metabolic imaging especially benefits from simultaneous NADH and FAD measurements. Other key features include a shared oscillator design for all-optical synchronisation; fixed delay between two colours with minimum jitter; and a single electronic trigger output as reference for TCSPC and gated detection.
