Bruker Acquifer HIVE high-performance data management and computing platform

Bruker’s Acquifer HIVE is a high-performance, modular data management and computing platform designed for research facilities that handle large, data-intensive scientific workloads. It integrates high-speed processing, scalable storage, networking and data protection within a unified on-premises architecture, enabling researchers to efficiently acquire, manage, process, analyse and visualise large microscopy and omics datasets.

By combining data storage with powerful CPU and GPU computing in a single system, the platform minimises data-transfer delays, avoids unnecessary duplication and enables rapid analysis directly at the point of storage. Its centralised, secure and vendor-agnostic environment supports multiple microscopes, instruments and users while keeping sensitive research data safely onsite.

The product supports applications including high-content imaging, 3D volumetric imaging, time-series data, multi-omics, image processing, visualisation and machine learning. Its high-speed RAID storage, tailored network integration, CPU/GPU configurations, firewall protection and integrated uninterruptible power supply provide the performance and security required for demanding research workflows.

At the heart of the system is the CORE, which provides the foundation for the modular architecture. Standard modules include DATA for secure, high-speed storage; NET for communication and 10 Gbps connectivity to microscopes and other instruments; and GPU for visualisation, accelerated processing and machine learning. The ecosystem can be extended with SAT for encapsulated computation and hardware control and BACKUP for enhanced data protection.
