Clonetics human cardiac fibroblasts from atrium and ventricle tissue

Clonetics human cardiac fibroblasts from atrial and ventricular tissue are isolated from adult heart tissue and cryopreserved at passage 2 with 500,000 cells per vial.

Post-thaw expression of collagen is I 90% and Von Willebrand factor VIII 10%.

The fibroblasts are an important tool in the study of: cardiac cell function and interaction, myocardial repair and remodelling studies, patho-physiology (ie, hypertension and myocardial response to injury), extracellular maintenance during cardiac cell/tissue growth, cardiac fibrosis, paracrine signalling in heart disease, toxicology and cytotoxicity, and gene expression

The recommended media kit is the FGM-3 fibroblast growth media optimised for cardiac fibroblasts.
