Lonza Poietics rat mesenchymal stem cells

Poietics rat mesenchymal stem cells (rMSC) are isolated from bone marrow taken from the femur and tibia of female Fischer 344 rats.

Test positive for surface markers CD29 and CD90 and negative for CD11b, CD34 and CD45 by flow cytometry and in vitro assays also test positive for adipogenesis indicated by oil red O and osteogenesis indicated by calcium mineralisation.

Optimised media kits are available for growth and expansion of the cells as well as osteogenic and adipogenic differentiation.
