Cayman Practice EIA Kit

Thursday, 20 March, 2014 | Supplied by: Sapphire Bioscience

The Cayman Practice EIA Kit is a useful tool for inexperienced users to practice enzyme immunoassay (EIA) workflow without risking precious samples or expensive reagents. The kit contains enough reagents to run at least four complete standard curves, including blank wells, non-specific binding (NSB) wells and maximum binding (B0) wells.

The kit is a competitive EIA format where labelled and unlabelled analytes compete for limited binding sites on analyte-specific antibodies. The acetylcholinesterase (AChE) tracer is highly stable under the assay conditions, has a wide pH range (pH 5-10) and is not inhibited by common buffer salts or preservatives. Analyte concentration is measured as an inverse proportion to production of 5-thio-2-nitrobenzoic acid, which has a strong absorbance at 412 nm.
