LumiMount Fluorescence Mounting Medium

Lumiprobe’s LumiMount is an aqueous-based mounting medium for coverslipping cells and tissues stained with various fluorescent dyes. LumiMount is compatible with most fluorescent markers used in microscopy applications and is designed to reduce fluorochrome quenching during imaging due to anti-fade agent content. The refractive index of liquid mounting medium is 1.38 but can increase as the water evaporates at the edges of the coverslip.

LumiMount is engineered to provide a semi-permanent seal for prolonged slide storage at 2–8°C. Since LumiMount is water-soluble, the coverslip may be removed by submerging the slide in a PBS solution until the coverslip is loosened. For better sealing of slides, it is recommended to seal the edges of the coverslip with waterproof nail polish. Lumiprobe also offers LumiMount Plus Fluorescence Mounting Medium with a higher refractive index, and LumiMount DAPI Fluorescence Mounting Medium with the nuclear counterstain, DAPI, embedded.
