ACOHS has released Labsafe - a web-based program designed for testing the occupational health and safety knowledge of staff and students.

The package simplifies writing, delivering and assessing OH&S competency tests. It can handle hundreds of distributed users simultaneously and instantly return their results.

Test questions are randomly selected from a database of over 500 multiple-choice questions covering six key safety modules: general laboratory safety, laboratory equipment safety, manual handling and ergonomics, chemical management, biological hazards and radiation safety.

It enables departments to gather accurate and tangible evidence of the OH&S competency of staff/students. Managers can generate reports to present evidence of training and testing to Worksafe and demonstrate compliance with OH&S regulations and requirements.

The program can be accessed from any computer within an organisation with internet access, and the user interface can be customised to closely match an existing website.

Certificates from ACOHS are awarded to students when the modules have been completed.
