ProSci cytokine storm research antibodies and proteins
A cytokine storm refers to the overproduction of cytokines as an inflammatory response due to infection. It has various causes, including infections by bacteria and viruses such as SARS-CoV-2. Cytokines are proteins secreted by the immune system and promote the body’s immune response. While helpful in mediating an immune response and controlling infection, an overproduction of cytokines can be harmful to the host. Cytokines include interferons (IFNs), interleukins (ILs), tumour necrosis factor (TNF), chemokines, colony stimulating factor (CSF) and growth factors.
The cytokine storm is still a relatively recent discovery, scientifically speaking, and is actively being studied. ProSci enhances this type of research through supplying high-performance antibodies and recombinant proteins for investigating IFNs, ILs, TNF, chemokines, CSF and growth factors.
