Purified solvents

The Seccosolv solvents are ready-to-use products of high purity and with minimal water content. They are produced with distillation methods that result in consistently high dryness and batch-to-batch consistency.

A septum cap provides multiple layers of protection for keeping the solvents guarded from potential contaminants. The caps are available with additional packaging sizes of 150 and 1000 mL. They offer: protection from atmospheric contamination; maintained quality throughout storage and use; better stability of solvent within the cycle of sample withdrawal; and better reproducibility of results.

Three more products have been added to the line of solvents: dimethylformamide for peptide synthesis, chloroform and ethyl acetate. All three dried solvents are available in the SeccoSept packaging (150 and 1000 mL).

The SeccoSept packaging features a security ring on the screw closure and a seal on the cap opening, providing clear notice if the product has been opened previously. The septum is a teflon-coated silicon sealing disk that fits precisely into the cap, where a safety lip keeps it securely in place. This means the septum can be punctured multiple times without losing stability or becoming porous.

The silicon can self-seal a puncture site. The septum’s properties exclude it from interacting with the solvent.

Only the septum circle currently in use is exposed to the environment. After removing the solvent, the user turns the cap to the sealing position, protecting the fresh puncture site from potential contaminants.

The bottle’s rotating cap enables one-handed operation for practical and safe manipulation.
