Elettronic Veneta WPP Automated Mini Hydroelectric Power Plant

The Automated Mini Hydroelectric Power Plant by Elettronica Veneta is a teaching model of a Pelton turbine used for the production of electric energy in mini plants driven by small streams. The equipment shows all the aspects of a hydroelectric plant.

The system includes a turbine-generator set driven by a forced-pressure water circuit; a stainless steel horizontal multistage centrifugal pump with inverter for rpm adjusting; a stainless steel water tank; an inverter for transforming output electric energy into standard mains valves; a supervision and control board, with the possibility of measuring the electrical quantities at a generator and inverter outlet locally or remotely when connected with a PC via RS232 port and conversion unit RS485/RS232.

The training program covers the study of hydroelectric power; power as a function of water flow rate and difference in height of the hydraulic pipe; head losses; hydraulic efficiency; turbine-generator mechanical efficiency; generator electrical efficiency; electric power output; load control; energy conversion. Typical applications include illumination, power supply of remote telecommunication equipment, charging batteries and more.
