Thermo Fisher Scientific has opened a state-of-the-art facility in Adelaide, SA.

The facility significantly increases Thermo Fisher Scientific’s manufacturing footprint in the region and consolidates analyser production operations in Adelaide.

“We are excited about expanding capacity here in Adelaide in response to extraordinary demand for our inline analysis technologies in emerging markets, particularly Asia and South America,” said Thermo Fisher Scientific president and CEO Marijn E Dekkers.

“By tapping the deep pool of local skill and talent, we look forward to building on our growth and presence in this region.”

The facility will manufacture cross-belt analysers, integrated sampling and analysis stations, multi-stream analysers and belt scales.

“Our new, highly efficient facility ultimately benefits our customers by enabling Thermo Fisher Scientific to introduce more new products in a shorter amount of time,” said Hans Jensen, vice president and general manager of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s materials and minerals business.

“We’re also making a long-term commitment to our customers and the community in Adelaide. As the region and the industry continue to shift and grow, we are now in a position to quickly react and expand with them.”
