maxon discontinuing A, F and S motors
The A, F and S series motors, from maxon motor, are being discontinued in favour of the RE, A-max, DCX and DC-max ironless DC motors.
Originally launched in the 1970s and 1980s, the ironless A, F and S motors are said to no longer reflect the state-of-the-art technology integrated in other maxon motors. With order quantities decreasing and economical manufacture no longer viable, maxon will be discontinuing the motors in the long term.
The motors will remain available until the end of 2017 (last delivery no later than June 2018). Because of the sharp increase in production costs, the company is not able to accept and process small orders after 1 April 2015 and is therefore introducing a minimum-order quantity.
With the RE, A-max, DCX and DC-max series, maxon motor offers a wide range of state-of-the-art ironless DC motors.
