Micro Emission has commercialised a technology developed at the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. The model MH-5000 is a compact, portable, plasma emission spectrometer which is claimed to deliver results on six elements per test run. The technology is based on liquid electrode plasma and operates on micro samples (40 µL) and minimal sample prep.

The MH-5000 is easy to use and results are available in minutes with resolution from 0.1 to 100 ppm. Applications cover a wide area including environmental monitoring, minerals in foods, process control and potable and wastewater monitoring.

This model represents the first of possible extensions for lab desktop and inline sampling.
