Stuart hotplate stirrers are available in a range of versions to suit most laboratories and include digital units, external temperature controllers, efficient infra red heating units or robust analog units. The stylish and economical general-purpose hotplate/stirrers are designed with safety as well as performance in mind. The hotplate is shaped for stability and also helps deflect spills away from the controls and the user.
The 'Hot' warning light flashes whenever the plate temperature is above 50°C and will operate even when the hotplate is turned off and the unit is still connected to the mains. An independent safety circuit protects against overheating and internal electronic components are protected against corrosion.
The glass ceramic top gives good chemical and temperature resistance, is easy to clean and stays cool at the edges. The white surface ensures good visibility of colour changes, during titration for example. Powerful magnets and motor give stirring speed up to 1500 rpm and volumes up to 15 L. The hotplate stirrers include a fitting for a retort rod and 2 x 25 mm PTFE-coated stir bars are supplied.
All Stuart benchtop equipment is protected by Biocote, a lifetime antimicrobial treatment on all surfaces, at no extra cost. BioCote is a silver-based system that inhibits bacterial reproduction.
