AdipoGen Life Sciences Periostin ELISA kits
Periostin, a 90 kDa secreted protein that shares a homology with the insect axon guidance protein fasciclin I, is thought to be involved in osteoblast recruitment, attachment and spreading, and is a component of the extracellular matrix.
Abnormal expression of periostin is linked to angiogenesis and metastasis in epithelial tumours. Periostin is crucial for cancer stem cell maintenance, and periostin upregulation in cancers usually correlates with aggressiveness or poor survival.
Periostin ELISA kits from AdipoGen Life Sciences enable the in vitro quantitative determination of human or mouse periostin in cell culture supernatants, serum and plasma. The assays are sandwich ELISAs that use a colorimetric detection system for periostin detection.
The kits have high sensitivity (human 15 pg/mL and mouse 10 pg/mL) and are specific and sensitive for the measurement of natural and recombinant periostin. They produce reproducible results with low inter- and intra-assay variation.
