Affymetrix USB Prep2Seq DNA Library Prep Kit

For those facilities performing next-generation sequencing (NGS), Affymetrix USB has developed a NGS library prep kit which is said to save time compared to currently available kits. The company set out to create a kit to produce high-performing, efficient, chimera-free NGS libraries to attain peak performance on the Illumina sequencing platform - with only 100 ng of input needed.

The Prep2Seq DNA Library Prep Kit comes with all reagents necessary for end repair, A-tailing and ligation. The method is efficient and can be completed in less than 2 h. The kit was formulated with proprietary enzymes, cloning expertise and specialised buffers for an optimised fragment A-tailing step, ensuring end bias is reduced and the formation of blunt- and G-tailed ends is minimised.

Additionally, combining the end repair and A-tailing steps, only one clean-up step is needed compared to the two or three steps in other kits (saving up to 2.5 h in the lab). A streamlined workflow, straightforward protocol and high-performing kit ensure high-quality library prep for Illumina sequencing runs.
