Azure Biosystems Ao Microplate Reader

The 96-well Ao Microplate Reader from Azure Biosystems offers a multitude of features to help perform arrays like ELISA, Bradford and Lowry assays. It offers wavelengths ranging from 340–750 nm.

Each standalone system comes with a filter wheel with eight filters: 405, 450, 492, 595 and 630 standard, plus three from the filter catalogue. It also includes a built-in shaker with speed selection, single- and dual-read modes, analysis software, a quartz-halogen light source and a 7″ touchscreen interface.

The microplate reader offers high performance and flexibility for total protein concentration and colorimetric ELISAs with a dynamic range of 0–4.000 Abs and resolution 0.001 Abs. The 96-well format allows for the testing of multiple samples simultaneously while still allowing for a broad detection range. A submenu allows the user to select up to 12 different standards and nine different controls.

The unit is designed to be easy to use, flexible and lower cost compared to fluorescent and luminescent-based readers. It only weighs 10 kg.
