Enzo Life Sciences introduces a novel line of conformational ELISA kits providing a sensitive, systematic and robust measurement of biosimilar conformation comparability at the molecular level.

The BIOLIKE Conformational ELISA kit allows for 3D conformational comparison and higher-order structure (HOS) characterisation between biosimilars and marketed monoclonal antibodies (mAbs). The technology can be applied to many stages of biologics development, from cell line selection to product release.

Each assay uses more than 30 polyclonal antibodies to cover an entire mAb — thereby measuring its surface-epitope distribution systematically and sensitively — providing a measurement of biosimilar mAb HOS comparability. Other features include the detection of small amounts of conformational impurity (≥0.1%) and good correlation with bioassays and glycosylation analysis.

There are currently nine conformational kits in the range, including kits for a conserved mAb sequence, adalimumab, alemtuzumab, bevacizumab, cetuximab, trastuzumab, infliximab, rituximab and palivizumab. In particular, the BIOLIKE conserved mAb sequence conformational ELISA kit enables monitoring of the structural conformation of novel monoclonal antibodies during the development process.
