High-throughput magnetic DNA and RNA purification

The Thermo Scientific KingFisher Flex is a compact magnetic bead processing system for rapid purification of DNA, RNA, proteins or cells. It can process 24 or 96 samples simultaneously and has a processing volume of 20-5000 µL. Additionally, the KingFisher Flex can be used with any brand of magnetic bead kit available as well as in-house developed kits.

The unit offers increased flexibility and throughput with the incorporation of magnetic heads for both 96- and 24-well plates. The 24-sample magnetic head enables the high-speed processing of samples from 200-5000 µL in 24-well deep well plates, providing increased yield with good reproducibility and quality. In combination with the 20-1000 µL volume range for 96-well plate processing, the device offers versatile, automated magnetic particle processing for DNA/RNA, protein or cell purification from virtually any source. Furthermore, the larger combined volume range (20-5000 µL) of the KingFisher Flex makes it suitable for researchers requiring larger volumes of starting material such as whole blood.

The KingFisher Flex offers very fast purification of all samples (10-40 minutes/run), requiring the minimum amount of hands-on and preparation time. With the BindIt PC interface software, users can easily create, optimise and import protocols. These features make the Thermo Scientific KingFisher Flex suitable for all applications and kits, and make it an open system.
