PCR reaction vessels

The Life Sciences Division of Corning has introduced an improved line of disposable PCR products.

Thermowell Gold PCR products are manufactured from an ultra pure medical grade poly-propylene using a mould-ing process that does not require contaminating releasing agents.

Thermowell Gold PCR tubes (0.2 and 0.5 mL) have longer cap flanges to prevent accidental cap opening and sample evaporation during thermal cycling. The tubes also feature ultra-thin walls of uniform thickness to accelerate heat transfer, reducing cycle times.

In addition to individual PCR tubes and 8 well tube strips, the Thermowell Gold product line includes 96 and 384 well microplates. All plates are offered in clear or black polypropylene. The 96 well microplates are available in three formats - full skirt, half skirt and elevated skirt - to ensure compatibility with a broad range of sequencers and thermocyclers. Sealing options include mats, tapes, and cap strips for conventional and real-time PCR.
